On 8th May, Moolah was rushed to the vets after collapsing post caesarian where she delivered 3 male kittens. Unfortunately she was unable to be saved and amongst feelings of grief we faced a huge dilemma, hand feed and hope or find a surrogate Mum. D=fortunately there is a fabulous group on Facebook with volunteer cat mummies helping to bring up babies as naturally as possible. so we reluctantly agreed that this was best for the babies even though it broke our hearts to hand them on. We kept telling ourselves its only for a while and in their best interests. Our three boys are with a Bengal mummy and thriving well. We hope to have them home very soon once they are weaned and ready for their life adventure.

A moment to reflect on how busy we have been with kittens at the end of 2015, sorry there was no time to post as we had three litters going on within weeks of each other. As I write this the last couple will be packing their trunks and saying goodbye to our circus! 11 kittens has been hard work but fun too. We will be resting until autumn 2016 when the next batch of Blutiluca Babies will start to be baked.
Moolah is growing large and looking for somewhere to nest. Anywhere but where I have planned as always!
She's also eating a lot so we are feeding her up for the work she will do for the next few weeks feeding her babies. Nervous and excited for the next few days....... Tarots kittens are now 3 weeks old and starting to walk. They are also trying to wash themselves. Soon we will start to wean them and litter training will also begin.
Well after a slightly disappointing kitten count from our Honey, She has made up for it in quality as Binkie is a beauty of a boy.
So this year we expect to have kittens from Dreamer and Honey in the first half. Mainetrax Hells Belle has retired at 3 years old, sadly we decided to neuter her after having 3 very large litters as she was suffering from very slow labour. She had polycystic ovaries and this was the cause. She is happy and very playful and as our first ever breeding queen will have the best of everything in her retirement. Later in the year we plan to mate Tarot and our newest girl Moolah! No names as yet but they are all doing really well. Mum is very content and feeding them beautifully. They all have eyes open and their hearing is coming along. They are starting to move around the pen in a slightly wobbly fashion. It won't be long before they are into everything!
![]() Mainetrax Tarot O Fortuna is expecting our first litter for 2013 of Blutiluca Babies. We will have more news in early August. If you are interested in being on our kitten list please contact me with details including a bit about the family and homelife that you can offer one of our very special kittens, we are fussy but you will understand our concerns, if you are the right sort of person that our kittens deserve. Well I'm half way through creating the site. Looking forward to 2013 and a new cat year. We have lots of plans and I hope this year will have less downs and more ups than the last few... |
